With the Friends of the Tionesta Public Library, books were given to children attending the Indian Festival parade on August 19, 2017. So much fun to watch the kids looking at the books and choosing their favorites. And for those of you who offered to donate the books your children have outgrown, a collection box is located on the porch at the Litten Law Office, 403 Elm Street, Tionesta, PA – your donated books are much appreciated and will be distributed next year.

Thanks to everyone who supported the September 2017 Bike MS Cook Forest River Ride. The event was an amazing success. More than 400 people entered the event and biked along the Clarion River in Cook Forest. It was a day made for biking with no wind, no humidity, sunshine, and mild temperatures, the reward for supporting this most worthy cause of raising money to fund research to cure MS. The event organizers are still tallying the numbers, and final fund-raising figures for the event in total and the individual team results will be available in a few weeks. Thanks again for the support. Part of our team is pictured here. We cycled 22 miles and next year we are committed to 35. Kudos to the others who completed the 35.

The Forest Area Arts Council is collaborating with the Friends of the Marienville Library to raise funds for the Marienville Area Library Building Fund. To that end, the Arts Council will use its Annual Dinner as a fund raising event for the Library. We are taking this unusual step because the Marienville Library has an anonymous benefactor who will match all funds raised by December 31, 2017. So, with that in mind, please attend the Arts Council’s Annual Dinner. The tickets are $20.00 each and the ticket includes a soup bowl made by Arts Council member and local artisan, Hughes Pottery. Many thanks to Hughes Pottery for their generous contribution to this event – all bowls are donated by Hughes Pottery. All food and entertainment for the event will be donated, and 100% of the proceeds will be given to the Marienville Library Building Fund. Join us on October 22, 2017 at the MACA Building in Marienville and meet the members of the Arts Council, learn about the things we do to bring the arts to our rural community, and help the Marienville Library. Contact Nancy at 814-758-0052 or Barbara Litten at info@littenlaw.com to order tickets. Visit our website at www.forestareaartscouncil.org to learn more about the Arts Council.
